I think we should merge both mappacks into one for a better convenience. I'll create an installer once Mappack 2 is ready.
That's what I was hoping for. I'll send you the maps when I'm done.

Operation Hailstone
Quote Xenanab ()
Operation HailstoneObjective mode win condition for allies must be edited. Allies couldn't win after the destruction of all objectives.
That was a big goof on my part, will fix. Also:
-added more 8 inch coastal guns
-removed respawn ability of San Juan
-reduced US ticket count by 25%

Operation Lilliput
Quote Xenanab ()
Operation LilliputI didnt know that allies have a destroyer later on. Maybe that should be replaced with a normal landing ship.
The Type 89 tank with experimental 37mm gun is actually capable of destroying Grants and Shermans when flanking. It should spawn at least twice.
Maybe also remove one of the Valentines / Matildas... These are really tough.
Could you also indicate on the minimap where rivers can be crossed by tanks? Traversal is sometimes insecure when driving slow armor through the whole landscape.
-removed Valentine
-removed Sherman POA
-replaced 1 Matilda CS with Matilda II
-increased respawn time of Matildas & Grant to at least 3 minutes
-added more Jap MG/mine kits
-added 8 inch coastal guns coast flags
-added another Ki-45 spotter kit
-experimental & normal Type 89s spawn twice
-set Western flag (Buna Village) to Jap by default again. It seemed a little too easy for Aussies to attack central flag when they had so many angles to attack from. Their spawn APC can still help them out in the initial assault. But I can change it to Aussie again if you really want.

Kota Bharu
Quote Xenanab ()
I will edit this map for a later mappack release again. OR: I will do the necessary changes untill the end of the upcoming week. How does that sound ?
There is definitely some stuff to be taken care of.

If you can make whatever changes and have it ready by next weekend, go for it. Otherwise, leave it until the next release.

Spurning FateQuote Xenanab14745Spurning FateI'm in the opinion that axis played really sloppy yesterday. They didnt even use all the counterspawn tanks at axis main.
Anyway, maybe readd the JT or the auto JP as counterspawn. But that must be enough. The JP would be a better choice.
Have there been Jagdtiger at the east front besides the battles near Berlin ??-added Jadgpanther w/ autoloader as counterspawn
-added ambient environment sounds

Quote Xenanab ()
Stashuv AreaMap is fine but I found something important: Some of allied vehicles that spawn at the main base in the beginning are not teamlocked.
Fixed.

Battle of Luzon
Quote Xenanab14745I think it's good that allies have this insane handweapon firepower. But you could still consider changing axis medic to Type 99 Support kit.

Overall more frequent armor that spawns at japanese flag 2 might be useful as a comeback mechanic.-decreased Chi Ha respawn time
-added Banzai charge kits
-added ambient environment sounds
-added more Type 99 pickups

Battle of Britain
-increased view distance from 550 to 750
-increased bomber respawn time from 10 s to 20 s

Desert Hill
-increased Tiger & Grasshopper respawn to 140 s
-removed 2 of 4 Willy SAS jeeps
-removed hill spawnpoints that are linked to East/West flags

Would it be possible to find that old moon map they had a while ago? Not sure what happened with it.

I have edited Kota Bharu for this new mappack release !

An overview of all the changes:

- Little cosmetic changes
- render/view distance increased (fog density is the same)
- edit on ingamemap.dds

- northern allied base is now an uncap MAIN
- added a new control point north east from Coastal Defence flag beyond the river on a hill called "The Ruin"
- Coastal Defence starts now as a neutral control point
- removed all pushmap elements
- changes on flag capture time
- flag values edited:
Allied MAIN: 0
Axis MAIN: 0
The Beach: 0
Coastal Defence: 50
The Ruin: 50
-> Whoever holds BOTH the Coastal and the Ruin makes the enemy team bleed!

- Almost all existing soldier spawnpoints edited
- added 5 soldier spawnpoints for Ruin

- changed postion of the one ammo box that used to be next to the Coastal flagpole
- added/ removed/ repositioned some static objects for gameplay reasons

- added Type 89 medium tank for axis at beach flag
- added Type 94 tankette for axis that spawns as long as allies hold the coastal defence (respawns extremely quick)
- added Universal Brencarrier w/ 50.cal Browning as counterspawn in allies MAIN when axis capture the Ruin
- added 2pdr AT gun in front of allies MAIN
- removed a few static MGs
- replaced all Bren MGs with Vickers
- removed landmine from allied MG fortification pickup kit

- replaced fortification Vickers pickup kit with fortification Lewis pickup kit
- removed smoke grenade from allied Boys ATR pickup kit
- removed melee weapon on allied No4 AT riflegrenade spawnkit
- allies now have only one Mills grenade
- allies now have only 2 AT riflegrenades
- added Owen / Type 100 SMG pickup kits w/ grenades on a few places
- added a kneemortar pickup kit on Beach for axis
- added a Winchester pickup kit w/ grenade at allies MAIN (long respawn time)
- added Binoculars for allied medic spawnkit
- removed Molotov for axis engineer spawnkit
- added Type 29 revolver for axis engineer spawnkit
- changed normal pistols on some kits for both sides to Colt / Type 29

- edits on respawn times for a lot of equipment for both sides (balancing reasons)

- deleted all backup .con data to reduce filesize

The most important change is the fact that this is no longer a complete asymetrical attacker vs defender map. With a smaller player base there should be no problem to play it because there is no fear of outcapping the opponent since allies have a Main base now (just imgaine Chartres for example).

If you're asking why the hell there are SMG 100s and Owens on a 1941 map, all I can say is: For the exact same reason there are Owen guns on Crete. Both SMGs have already been designed but none have been in production. But when has that ever been a big reason in FHSW to not include some interesting weapons?
Australian soldiers have been defending Malay aswell. Sometimes you need some alternation in handweapons on a map like this; especiall when it's an infantry map where FHSW normally doesn't provide a big variety in guns.

Since the last time showed us that the Thommygun is a really dominant SMG in close combat against MP18. New Japanese armor shall help to attack flags effectively.
The only problem is that a single No4 AT riflegrenade can cause huuuge damage on it already so I had to nerf that class: Only 2 grenades and no melee weapon whatsoever. In the best case a wider scope of different soldierclasses is key to victory.

The filesize is around 14,7 MB now.

Haha I had the intention of doing that before I gave the map to you. Great minds think alike  booze

Well, since they're just pickup kits I can be fine with it.

Quote Xenanab ()
Coastal Defence: 50The Ruin: 50

That seems a bit excessive. Is it 50 seconds just to neutralize it?

Thank you very much for your work Xen, you did way more than I expected  biggrin

I was talking about the value there not the cap time. The flag value defines when the enemy team gets ticket bleed. You can create flags with different valuies if you want. But on this map only 2 flags matter so I just made it 50 / 50 ^^

The total amount of these kits on this map is exactly 4.

I'm glad you like it. Looking forward to the release :-)

Kota Bharu is a map based on a real battle, but I do not see on this map any light tank in this battle, was not used tanks for combat?

Thank you so much crazygamelover & Radiosmersh !

Now let's get this thing moving:

- We need an updated installation guide for FHSW here:
http://fhsw-europ.ucoz.de/forum/21-896-1  ( Bubu? ) (done)
and here:
http://www.moddb.com/mods....or-fhsw ( eye.ris? ) (done)
and here:
http://fhsw.wikia.com/wiki/Forgotten_Hope_Secret_Weapon_Wiki ( Radiosmersh? )

- Bubu, Marduk? could you also add a download link on the frontpage of www.FHSW-Europ.ucoz.de ?
Something like: Download FHSW-Europe Mappack 1+2 installer here (done)

- Should we also rename the server to something like: FHSW-Europ.ucoz.de w/ Mappack 1+2 ?

- Maybe it should be also announced on the ingame server info box (the one that gets displayed when joining the server)

And to all admins and regular players on our server: Spread the word and make as many players as possible know that now there is this new mappack available.

Please tell them that they have to make sure they got FHSW Mappack 1+2.
From now on this is how we call this thing; it's better for convenience and to communicate to everybody that there exists an addition of our 1st mappack!

If we keep spreading this message the whole playerbase will get it and we can implement new maps in our regular rotation which will benefit the gameplay experience of FHSW.

Maplist related question

There are duplicated maps in the maplist now:
- Operation Hailstone
- Operation Hailstone_mod
- Operation Kikusui Day 2
- Operation Kikusui Day 2_mod

Which ones should I remove (if any)? Which ones are supposed to be ran? I'd assume '_mod' ones should be the ones to be ran? :P

Kotabharu crashes for me while loading for some reason. The rest of the maps seem to work fine.
Battle of Luzon crashes for Duck_698 and two other players also couldnt connect (dunno if they got the mappack though). There must be some issues related to the mappack. What can it be?

Yes, that's correct. Both Operation Hailstone and Operation Kikusui Day 2 do not work and now got replaced with our mappack additions ^^

Crash upon joining the server? Or are you also not able to start a local multiplayer game on it? Do other players have these issues too ?

EDIT: kei was always able to join KotaBharu and I asked him to send me his map file. Turns out that it was the old map from the test session weeks ago.

That means right now the server is running the old and wrong kotabharu map. With his old file I could successfully join..
Bubu? Can you fix that before Sunday smile ?

I tested kota bharu by 5 times and all these attempts to try loading was not possible when I tested it in local it seemed to work fine I was not disconnected, funny and only when I try to connect by the server that I am crashed. before launching the map pack this map was working well for me. I downloaded the installer version by one driver maybe causing this problem because of this, or maybe I choosing another mode of installation will work?

Same for me. Both manual installation links caused my whole game to crash while trying to connect to the server. Installer-version works (apart from Kotabharu).

Thank you very much Bubu :-)

I've come to notice that on the maplist there is also strangely a Conquest mode version of Battle of Britain_mod. Maybe that should be disabled aswell since it might crash. Only use Objective mode there.

Marduk? What do you think about bringing players directly to the installer download with the link on the main page ?
I don't know if they might miss Radio's post above and his download links.

@Xenanab: I don't know if the installer version works for all players. I think Bubu said that for some players the installer doesn't work (and as I experienced for others the manual version doesn't). Correct me if I am wrong.

Okay then. Let's wait how's the reception of the mappack downloading and installing the next days.

If we keep telling new players about it ingame they will become aware of it in any case.
