What is this site about?
fhsw-europ.ucoz.de is the official site of the [FHSW] Europe Community and the [FHSW] Europe Server.

What is FHSW?
FHSW stands for Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon which is an unofficial continuation of Forgotten Hope, a Battlefield 1942 modification. We say unofficial since FHSW is developed by FH fans, not the original FH creators.

FHSW is set in the Second World War and offers you over 650 different vehicles on land, air and sea. "Secret Weapon" means that you'll find many prototype or even blueprint vehicles, like the famous P. 1000 "Ratte" or "Maus". It also enhances the regular Forgotten Hope in other aspects, e. g. better lighting, sounds, tracers and an improved damage system.

If you've never played Battlefield 1942 or Forgotten Hope, than I recommend this trailer to get a first impression of this mod.

Your server is always empty?

Battlefield 1942 is an old game, so don't expect a full server all day. If you want to play FHSW with more players you have to join the server on specific times and dates:

Gaming days: Friday to Sunday @7 pm server time (=Central European Time), see clock on the right hand side.
Events: Date and time are announced on the front page, usually about 5 days before start.

If you don't want to miss the events, the best way is to join the Discord channel or just check the main page regularly.


Why is the loading time so damn long?
Well FHSW is one of the biggest Battlefield 1942 mods and the biggest mod-mod for BF42.
So there are many files which have to be loaded for a map.
It could also be that the fhsw-files are bad sorted and the hard drive have to load the very fragmented files ->requires more work and time

Technically FHSW is not a standalone mod due to copyrights of original FH base creators. That means game engine loads FH files at first and then replaces them in memory with the FHSW ones.

FHSW crashes or doesn't work properly
First make sure that you did everything according to the tutorial on ModDB.

If FHSW still crashes register at the forum and create a thread in the Support & Help section. We'll try our best to solve your problem.

Does this mod have singleplayer support?

FHSW doesn't have singleplayer support since the release of version 0.4 and since 0.5 all maps crash when you try to play them in Coop/SP.


Where can I find more information about FHSW?

The first port of call is our wiki, where you find, besides lots of other things, information about all vehicles and maps.

Where can I find Battlefield 1942?

Some copies of Battlefield 1942 can still be found on Amazon or Ebay. It was also available for free in EA's Origin store but was removed in July 2014 when Gamespy shut down which also disabled the in-game server browser.

Because of this situtation some people decided to create and upload their own Battlefield 1942 installer with an updated BF1942.exe which re-enables multiplayer and adds other useful features like proper 1920x1080 support.
