| The old master server (master.bf1942.sk) is down. A new one is created: master.bf1942.orgPosted by Arkyliën on Feb 23rd, 2022The old master server (master.bf1942.sk) which was created by s [sk]after the gamespy master went down is now also down.
The community created a new master server which is hosted on a new domain:
master.bf1942.orgPlayers need to patch their executable to be able to update the server list.
Server owners will need to patch their server to send a heart beat to the master.

| If using Windows, you can edit the hosts file located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder.
1. Run Notepad as administrator (rightclick on the notepad.exe and select Run as Administrator)
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open the hosts file. If a box appears that says Always Open this File with Notepad, make sure it is NOT checked.
3. Edit or add the line as shown below:
143.176.207.225 master.gamespy.com
Make sure you use the TAB key between the ip address and master.gamespy.com and not the spacebar.
4. Your hosts file should look like the attached file. Make sure you use the # to remark out old entries for master.gamespy.com.
5. Save and exit.
