My PC shuts down while playing (r)

| It happened before esspecialy on our FHSW EU Mappack,sometimes more often,i checked the temperatures,and cleaned the PC(more precisely a laptop Dell Studio XPS 16).Number of shut downs decreased as i limit the fps to 45.Is there any idea how to solve it,i tried googling but i only found that it is problem with temperature,but on my PC it isnt,and i installed 4GB patch.
Recently i got very mad because of the shutdowns and trying solving this problem.

| My old laptop used to become vey hot and shot down as well. The game just overstrained the hardware. It never happened again on my desktop pc.

| But my laptop dont get hot,its still about 50 C,but i am still thinking to change the termal paste(its about 10 years old).And i am using torrent version(i can provide the link).(I am to poor to buy new pc  )

| It is almost certainly hardware related, most probably heat related. You should check your GPU temperature. It is probably overheating. Changing the thermal paste for both CPU and GPU and perhaps north bridge could help. However, some GPUs from that era had problems with their packaging or soldering which caused them to slowly degrade with each time they are heated and cooled down. After some cycles of heating/cooling down problems appear and eventually they fail. If that is the case it would probably not be worth repairing. But good cooling generally prolongs life if there is no permanent damage already.
A PC that can run the current version of FHSW well costs little. You can find decent second hand laptops that would do the job for about 170-200 euro. A desktop would cost even less.

| Well i put processor max frequency to be about 80% in the Power control,we will see what will happen tonight.Also i played games that are more demanding like PAYDAY 2 and didnt had shutdown problems.

| one day something happened to my pc, it turns itself off when I tried to play any game, or when I surfed the internet, it was practically impossible to keep it turned on, I tried everything thinking that it was the temperature or something in the momeria, but it was actually my HD was too old, he could not stand it, and he died. hahaha maybe that could be it?
