I start todat with a model. It is since 2009 i have work on a model. I will built the 128mm PAK 44 Waffentrager Krupp 1 on scale 1/35 from Trumpeter. The track links are bad! They are be made in parts. Can a person help me with this problem by give me an factory who makes the track links together in metal or rubber?

Update. I have now quit with the gun so it can rest a while. Meanwhile i have start with the chassis. Theory the tracks and roadwheels should be fix now. However i will wait for this because it is not easy to paint them after fix. Also i have still a need on good tracks and i have found a sollution. Metal tracks for the Hetzer i will buy. Each package have 210 links. I hope with 420 links (the Waffentrager is twice longer then Hetzer) its enough and i have a few left so i can add them as extra pantser on the front as reserve tracks. Also the ammo storage should be filled with the ammo but also for this i will wait. I have place the Jagdtiger because both use the same gun. The Jagdtiger is scale 1/32 and is a little bigger then its should be in scale 1/35.

I have made good experiences with single track links when I stuck them on the wheels like this:
1. stick as many track links together that it is enough to cover the bottom and the top parts of the wheels. Now paint them. When you finished you got four stiff chain parts you can easily fix to the wheels.
2. Paint the remaining track links while they are still in the frame. Around the traction wheels and the guide wheels you need to stick the track links piece for piece. Renew the painting afterwards if neccessary.

Well what i was thinking was buy the Hetzer Metal tracks and make it ready before fix on it. Paint the parts and bring the complete kit together. I was thinking to paint the tracks in black steek, rust. But with sandpaper i should remove a little bit paint of so you can see the metal color. Then with dust over the tracks. That was the plan. Until today! Fruitmodel made and sell metal tracks. What i just found are those: Metal Tracks for 1/35 German 12.8cm PAK44 / Waffentrager Krupp 1 (270 links) by Fruitmodel! Great! cool

Question, what you use for the corners for that metal effect?

I have never been as detailled in building my models as you are (yours look really nice!) and it is quite a time since I was doing that.
Below I show you some pics of my masterpieces so you can get an imagination of how detailled or not-detailled I build them (Tanks 1/35, Planes 1/72)
It is a really nice hobby but I got not enough time. Probably I will do that again when I am retired biggrin
